What is an Allergy?
Allergies occur when your body is exposed and reacts to what are typically harmless substances such as mold spores, animal hair and dander, insects, plant pollen and food. When you come into contact with one or more of these substances by either direct touch, inhalation or ingestion, the substances are absorbed into your tissue and blood where they elicit an immune system response. Sometimes this response can result in skin irritation, itchy and watery eyes, runny nose and shortness of breath.
How We Can Help
At PrimeCare we not only help you identify your allergies, but also provide proactive solutions to manage your condition in a healthy way.
In order for your Provider to have the best understanding of all of your allergies and symptoms, we recommend that you have both a Food and Environmental allergy test performed. It helps us better understand your full allergy profile and possibly identify triggers you may not be aware of.
Allergy Testing and Treatment
An allergy test can be performed to identify both Environmental and Food allergies that you may have. By using the Percutaneous Skin Testing method, results can be highly accurate and immediate while the cost can be relatively inexpensive.
This form of testing is also virtually pain-free and does not use any needles, does not require blood to be drawn and the entire appointment may be performed in under an hour with results provided at the end of the test.
